Are you the type of person who has extremely detailed pictures of the goals you’re setting out to achieve? Are you a meticulous planner, who likes things “just so”, and when it doesn’t go to plan or turn out the way you pictured, you beat yourself about it and throw negative thoughts all over the place. There is a fine balance between striving to do your best and continuously improve, versus aiming for perfection that can never be achieved.

• When you receive feedback at work, do you punish and berate yourself about it with repetitive negative thoughts?
• Do you equate making mistakes with failure?
• Do you feel as if you are not good enough, so you’re always striving to make up for it and ending up in relationships that don’t serve you?
• When you look in the mirror, do you always find something about your body to criticize?
• Do you feel that no matter how hard you work out or take care of yourself, you’ll never be satisfied with how you look?

Having high standards can be a great thing and motivate you towards success, but striving for perfection can hold you back from what you truly want and deserve.

More Information

Life is not about being perfect, and mistakes are part of learning and making progress. Life itself is a process of making progress. Perfection is a habit that you can change if you know the right steps to focus on. You can learn to let go of perfection and live a little more free! You might even enjoy yourself in the process.

So what’s the first step? Find out what motivates you, is it success or failure? Is it fear or achievement? Then you can learn how to use this to your advantage by replacing negative thought patterns that get in your way, and training your brain to focus on successes.

Quote by Oprah

Live from the heart of yourself. Seek to be whole, not perfect.

Are you more rigid and unforgiving of yourself than you are of others? When you get a deeper understanding of the expectations you place on yourself, and why you strive for perfection, you are opening yourself up to delve deeper into discovering what’s even more important to you than perfection, and how to use this to enjoy a more flexible life going with the flow.

• Have you been holding on to perfection because you’re scared that without it, you won’t achieve anything?
• Are you feeling stressed or burning out, maybe taking extended holidays and feeling guilt about it, because you are trying to be perfect in every sphere of your life?
• Do you often catch yourself thinking that life is not just about doing your best? It’s also about that fear of failure and disappointing others?
• Do you want to be able to put your best foot forward, feeling proud of your achievements and knowing that you are making progress towards your goals?

There is a better way. You can stop perfection and start living up to your full potential. The possibilities are endless! Imagine feeling more positive about your body, how you look, and how much fun you can now have at the beach in summer (or out on a date).

You could actually delegate some of your workload and take time off without the guilt. Maybe you’ll find a wonderful relationship that you didn’t even know you were looking for.

Quote by Gerrit. W. Gong

To be worthy does not mean to be perfect

Join us for yet another amazing workshop, and hear from someone who not only is an expert at perfection, but also an expert at stopping it from getting in the way. Surround yourself with positive people who are all striving to be the best they can be. Have some fun, laugh a little and take home some real skills you can use for life.

You can break the negative perfectionist cycle using really simple strategies that are easy to implement. Stopping perfection is a process, but with the right tools and the right team supporting you, you can do it. Feel free to bring a friend or any perfectionists you might know who can benefit!

Amazing! I wish I had learnt and been aware of how extremely important emotions play in ones life. Knowing that we control and choose the emotions we feel and not the other way around. Being lead by the trainees, who showed us how family it was to change your state / emotion for.
